Highlights to date:

Student Financial Aid Office, Kent State University

I selected this internship to compliment my assistantship in the Admissions Office at Kent State because I believe that a basic knowledge of the financial aid process is vital to the success of any admissions counselor. Prospective families frequently ask our staff about financial assistance long before they speak with a financial aid representative.

Office for Student Affairs, the Cleveland Institute of Music

This internship allowed me to combine my two loves: student affairs and a music school environment. I had the opportunity to increase my knowledge of resources available to music students related to career search, professional development, and student services. A position in a similar environment, with similar tasks, would be a “dream job” for me.

Career Resource Center, University of Florida

This 10-week summer internship was open to open to a national search, and participating in the program as their second annual intern was one of my best professional and personal decisions to date. It was my “crash course” in Career Services, and I came to understand and love the practicality that career programming brings to the lives of students.

Career Services Center, Kent State University

Since the UF internship was my only Career Services experience, I wanted to continue to learn more about this field after returning to Kent. Volunteering at two of their major spring events (Teacher Interview Day and the Job and Internship Fair) allowed me to observe how institutional size and population type can affect the work of a Career Services professional.
